Firstly I would point out the speed and simplicity of the Flower Vase mug rug. You can make this pattern from scraps of unused binding or odds-and-ends in your rag bag and it will still look good. Simple to put together - make it your mother's favourite colours. There is enough room on the left-hand side for a pot-plant so this mug rug is the perfect accompaniment to a pot of daffodils.
Alternatively, you could add some quick corner triangles to the back of Heart Bouquet so your mother can hang this pretty little quilt in a favourite spot. (You may find that your mother will want to show off her gift!)
Or what
about the original Tea and Cake mug rug. This is the perfect addition to a pack
of speciality tea and biscuits (plus it is a great little pattern to have in
your library).
Of course
you could just send your mother her very own Mum mug rug.
I know
Mother’s Day isn’t until later in the USA, Spain, Mexico, European and Middle
Eastern countries. But using one of these quick and easy patterns will mean you
have a gift well before time – taking the stress out of last minute purchases.
There you have it - Mother's Day all sewn up! Sew until
next time .....
p.s. Don't forget to check back
on 1st March for the Across the Pond Sew Along project. It is my turn to choose
the free pattern - and I have picked a delightful make that you will love and
would also make a very good Mother's Day gift - if you can bear to part with it
that is.

I just love a cute mug rug and yours are so cute and sweet! Thanks for the great idea!
